Terms and conditions

The rules of the service, in plain words: what Wovea offers, what you can upload, what limits it has and what each party is responsible for.

This is a translation for your convenience. If anything differs, the Spanish version prevails.

Who provides the service#

Provider of the Wovea service (wovea.app): Wovea. Contact: info@wovea.app. The rest of the identifying details are in the Legal notice.

What Wovea is#

You drop in a file or a text, Wovea recognises what type it is and suggests actions: translate and proofread texts, transcribe and subtitle, extract the audio from a video, remove the background from or enhance a photo, prepare an ID photo, convert images, translate documents and more. Using the website means accepting these terms.

Free and without sign-up#

Wovea is free and needs no account. There are no payments, subscriptions or renewals. If one day we offer paid options, they will be optional, and their terms and price including taxes will be shown before you sign up.

Limits and availability#

  • Files up to 500 MB; audio and video up to 120 minutes; text up to 50,000 characters.
  • At most 60 AI requests per hour from the same IP address, so that bots don’t drain a free service.
  • We may pause specific actions or the whole service due to overload, maintenance or security. The website will tell you, and the task can wait and start on its own as long as the file is still on the server.

We try to keep Wovea always working, but we cannot guarantee there will be no interruptions or technical errors.

What you can and can’t upload#

Only upload your own material or material you have the right to process. You may not upload or do:

  • illegal content: content that infringes copyright or image rights, incites hatred or violence, or child sexual abuse material;
  • other people’s personal data without a legal basis to process it (for example, recording and transcribing someone without their knowledge when the law requires their permission);
  • using Wovea to deceive others, for example by forging official documents or ID photos;
  • trying to overload the service, getting around its limits, accessing non-public parts or using it in an automated, large-scale way.

If we see such use, we may block access from that connection and, where the law requires it, notify the authorities.

Age#

If you are under 14, use Wovea only with the permission and supervision of your mother, father or guardian. We don’t ask for age or identity details.

Your files and your results#

  • The rights to your files and texts remain yours. We use them only to perform the action you choose; we don’t publish them or use them to train models.
  • The result is yours to the extent that the original material was.
  • On the server, files and results are deleted after 24 hours. After that they exist only in your browser’s library: download and keep anything important, because if you clear your browser data it is lost too.

Artificial intelligence results#

Translations, transcriptions, corrections, extracted texts and descriptions are produced by AI models and can be wrong: they may leave something out, misunderstand a word or make up a fact. Check the result yourself before using it for anything important, especially legal or medical documents or official procedures.

ID photos are prepared using the dimensions published by each authority, but it is that authority that decides whether to accept them: check them against its requirements before submitting them.

Liability#

The service is free and provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damage, for the loss of files after deletion at 24 hours or after a browser clean-up, or for how you use the results. We are always liable for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, and for anything for which the law does not allow liability to be limited. These terms do not reduce your rights as a consumer.

Open-source software#

Open-source programs (ffmpeg.wasm, heic-to, onnxruntime-web) and openly licensed models run in your browser, each with its own terms. The website footer links to the code of those that require it.

Data protection#

What data passes through Wovea and how long it is kept is explained in the Privacy policy and the Cookie policy.

Applicable law and complaints#

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If something went wrong, write to us first at info@wovea.app and we will try to sort it out.

If you are a consumer and we can’t reach an agreement, you can turn to the Junta Arbitral de Consumo (Spanish consumer arbitration board) or the consumer services of your autonomous community. If it came to court, the courts of your place of residence would have jurisdiction.

Changes#

We may update these terms when the service or the law changes. The current version and its date are always on this page; changes do not apply to tasks already started.
